Eugene came from Jamaica to
New York as a young man, then moved to South Florida in the
early 90s. He toured with reggae stars like Kid Creole, and
recorded several albums of his own. He and Ted joined forces in
2007.
Tom started gigging with Ted in 2008, taking time from his
regular gig with the house band at the Hard Rock Cafe to do
choice dates like a wedding with Ted's orchestra at the
Sanibel Harbor Resort.
The band recorded new demos
in August 2010. Also see the
Crosswind song list.

Miami
fund-raiser
The band played a fund-raiser for the
Transplant Foundation
at Archie's, a restaurant at
Mary Brickell Village in Miami. Drummer George Mazzeo joined Ted and
Eugene for the gig.
The mix included rock, folk-rock
and reggae, tunes like Santana's Oye
Como Va, James Taylor's Shower the People,
and Bob Marley's Jamming.
California Girls brought back good memories, and Johnny B. Goode rocked the
house.
Crazy Little Thing Called Love turned the bar area into an
impromptu dance floor.
Later, foundation
executive director Eli Compton told Ted the music
was excellent, and discussed having Crosswind back for other events. Ivan
Gomez, president of the board of directors, is pictured with the band at
right. |
