Paul Magersuppe, saxSaxophonist Paul Magersuppe is featured on this jazz compact disc by the Ted Knight Quintet.

Ted is at the piano, with Michael Burns on bass and Jean Bolduc on drums.

 

Paul plays alto on standards such as Hello Young Lovers, Dearly Beloved, and Burt Bacharach's Alfie.

 

He switches to tenor sax (and Ted to electric piano) on Just the Two of Us, the modern jazz standard from Grover Washington, Jr., and Too Hot, a Kool & the Gang hit that was later recorded by saxophonist Tom Scott.

Dave Gibble adds trumpet or flugelhorn on four tunes, including a bossa nova version of the title cut.

Vocalist Evelyn Russell is featured on Lullaby of Birdland.

 The album was recorded live to eight-track digital in a single session in 2006. Ted's vocal on The Shadow of Your Smile is the only overdub.
