The first song list is for the Ted Knight
Orchestra and the World's Smallest Big Band. The mix starts with jazz, blues, and
standards, adding pop and rock when needed.
The
second song list is especially for the Ted Knight
Big Band, but many of these songs can also be played by the smaller
orchestra.
The
third song list is for Ted Knight and the
Convertibles. This band starts with pop, rock, and island music,
and adds jazz and standards when needed.
The best way to use a list is to print
it, circle some choices, add a few special requests
in the margins, and fax the
marked-up list to the number at the top of this page. It's better not to
request too many songs, as some of
your real favorites are bound to be skipped. A four-hour
wedding might allow time for 40 or 50 songs, best to choose no more than 25.
This tells Ted which songs you really
want played, and he'll go with the flow of the event to fill in
the rest. The above groups can play hundreds of songs
besides those on the lists, but it takes time to prepare arrangements for
song requests not already in the library. When making special
requests for the big band or the orchestra, as a rule of thumb, allow about a week per song.
For example, to prepare a dozen songs not listed, three months' notice would be recommended.
It takes less time to
add special requests for The World's Smallest Big Band.
Next there’s a list for
The Knight Music Trio. This chamber
music ensemble plays classical selections and love songs especially for
wedding ceremonies and cocktail receptions. |
